Depression
Depression doesn’t always look like sadness.
Sometimes you’re still going to work, taking care of your family, showing up for everyone else and doing everything you’re supposed to do, but you just don’t feel like yourself.
Maybe you’re more irritable, overwhelmed, tired, unmotivated or constantly overthinking things. Maybe you’ve stopped enjoying things you normally would. Or maybe you can’t really explain what’s wrong… you just know something feels off.
When these changes start becoming your new normal, they’re worth paying attention to.
Sometimes there are underlying factors contributing to how you’re feeling, and part of feeling better is taking the time to figure out what those might be.
Medication can absolutely be helpful when it’s needed, and that’s something I can help with. But the goal isn’t simply to write a prescription. It’s to look at the bigger picture and figure out what makes sense for you.
Sometimes recognizing that “I haven’t felt like myself lately” is enough of a reason to reach out.
